It is good to see that the April flurries finally turned to showers to bring on the May flowers this year. Along with the warmth and extended days we welcome badminton, softball and a number of outdoor trips taking advantage of the improved weather. Transition activities are taking place for our Grade 8’s to get them ready for high school as well we will meet with our Kindergarten parents to prepare them for their child’s first days at Janzen.
This month we will begin our year end assessments to reflect growth over the year and to aid in planning for the fall. Parent Council has just finished with another successful Family Movie Night and Community dance. This month they will be holding their Annual General Meeting with elections, updating the schools’ constitution and fundraising on the agenda and will be having two special lunch days. In May, our Grade 8’s will be off to Campus Regina for some hands on experiences, band students will be touring, and the JLT will be wrapping up their fundraising with a special presentation at the next assembly. These are but a few of the many things happening this month as we look forward to another great month of learning.
