Week at a Glance: September 26 - 30

Congratulations goes out to the 22 Cross Country Runners who qualified in the top 25 in their age group and are off to run at the cities this Wednesday.  Hats off also goes to our Boys Volleyball team who started thier season off with a win last week and wish the Girls team good luck with their first game this week.  We will be holding our Terry Fox Run/Walk this Thursday afternoon starting at 1:00.  We ask that pledge forms are due back in at the end of the week and we thank you for your continued support of the Terry Fox campaign for Cancer Research.  The Henry Janzen School Community Council met this past week and will be starting their special lunch days October 5th with a Pizza Hut lunch.  Stay tuned for more information on when you can place your orders at healthyhunger.ca.

Week at a Glance - September 19-23


The Cross County Team has their meet this week at Douglas Park and the Volleyball Teams have their first games.  Good luck to everyone.

Students are showing leadership skills in numerous ways including:  Safety Patrol, Sr. & Jr. Janzen Leadership Teams (JLT) , Canteen & Milk sales and Library Helpers.  Thank you for making our school a great place to be! 

Pledge sheets for the Terry Fox Foundation were sent home with students on Friday.  For the safety of students please only collect pledges from people that you know. 

The first School Community Counil meeting of the year will be held on Wednesday evening.  New members are welcome to attend.  More information about the council can be found here.

School picture day is Friday.

Although last week was a short week for students, it was definitely a full week for staff planning and preparing for September 1st.  We are very pleased how the first two days for students began and are looking forward to a great year of learning at Henry Janzen School.

This week we begin organizing our Cross Country Running Team for students from Grade 3 - 8 along with Volleyball for our senior students.  More information for students will be included in the morning announcements on school for team meetings and pracitces.

Welcome Back 2016-2017

June 27 - 29

Where has the time gone?  This last week of school has come all too quickly and it is time to say good bye to our Grade 8s, staff who will be moving this fall and a special farewell is also extended to Mrs. Boan who will be retiring this year.  As the year comes to an end, the staff of Henry Janzen woudl like to thank all our parents for your support over the year and look forward to working with you and your children next year.

* Parents of band students are reminded that grade 6 - 8 band is now finished for the year following last week's concerts as attention is now focused on grade 5 recruitment.  There will be no more band sectionals or full band practices till the fall.  This is also the last week to order Pizza Hut pizzas through healthyhunger.ca .  The orders will close this Friday and the pizza lunch will be Thursday, June 16th.
